Maleeha Haq, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Haq graduated magna cum laude from Florida Atlantic University in 2005 with a degree in biological sciences. In 2011, she earned her medical doctorate degree with honors at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine, where she also completed an internal medicine residency. A proud USF Bull, she also completed two fellowships at the university – one in general cardiology, the other in interventional cardiology.
Before joining Bay Area Cardiology, Dr. Haq worked as a house officer (internal medicine) at Kindred Hospital and a nocturnal physician at James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital, both in Tampa.
Now providing care with Bay Area Cardiology's team of over a dozen highly trained and skilled physicians, Dr. Haq specializes in interventional cardiology and performs an array of procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary artery angioplasty and stents, echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), stress echos, nuclear and exercise stress tests, Holter and event monitoring, and many other comprehensive cardiac tests. She evaluates any diagnostic heart issue – from valve issues, artery blockage and palpitations to atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure and much more.
Dr. Haq is currently seeing patients at Bay Area Cardiology's four locations in Brandon, Riverview, Tampa and Sun City Center, and is also providing service at Brandon Regional Hospital.
